The paper presents the results of long experience of vibration analysis and condition monitoring of reciprocating compressors.
On the basis of the collected data the principles and methodological support for data collection and analysis, which enable vibration analysis and condition monitoring of reciprocating compressors, have been developed in order to determine normative values of the measured parameters.
The paper also presents some results concerning the ways to measure the parameters, collect data, and diagnose the compressors, as well as data processing scheme and some normative values.

This regulation document is developed on the basis of the Conclusion of the commission of State Technical Supervision Service of Russia carrying out acceptance tests of complex systems for monitoring of equipment of hazardous production facilities. This commission was created according to the decree № P-20 (02 December 2003) of Deputy Chief of State Technical Supervision Service of Russia. The conclusions reflect long-term experience of creation and implementation of comprehensive systems for real-time condition monitoring of machine and process equipment of hazardous production facilities in chemical, petrochemical, oil producing, oil and gas processing, mining industry, rail transport, public service, power engineering. This standard is recommended for expert, engineering companies and industrial enterprises as a guideline for selection and use of vibration indexes system for monitoring of machine unit condition in order to prevent technogenic accidents and ensure safe resource-saving operation of the equipment according to actual technical condition.
The standard has been developed by DYNAMICS SPC and the Scientific-and-Industrial Union "RISCOM".
The paper presents statistical analysis of distributions of characteristics of a spectral matrix of vibrations of batch-type equipment by a centrifugal pump unit.
The results of work have been used in the construction of automated expert system (ES) for diagnostics and decision-making in respect of technical condition.
The developed ES is integrated into the software of the COMPACS® stationary system for continuous vibration monitoring and vibration diagnostics, stand systems and Compacs®-micro portable device. Thus, it integrates into the system that provides measurement, storage of the measurements, ES measurements processing and automatic instructions – without the personnel being involved.
