DYNAMICS SPC published the second edition of "Fundamentals of machinery vibroacoustic analysis and monitoring"

In March, 2015, Publishing House of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) published the second edition of the tutorial "Fundamentals of machinery vibroacoustic analysis and monitoring". The authors of the tutorial are V. N. Kostyukov and A.P. Naumenko.

The tutorial is recommended by the Education and Methodics Association of higher education institutions of the Russian Federation for training in the field of construction and optics engineering for higher educational students of the 200100 – "Instrument-making" and other instrument engineering specializations.

The tutorial considers theoretical and practical basis of vibro-acoustic analysis of machinery failures, as well as methods of vibro-acoustic analysis of signals. The second edition was amended in order to clarify the certain concepts, terminology, formulas and signs.

The tutorial is intended for students who study such disciplines as "Automated systems for quality control and diagnostics", "Methods of technical diagnostics", "Vibration monitoring" while they are training to become specialists, masters and bachelors. The tutorial may be useful for post graduate students and specialists of non-destructive testing, who use the vibration analysis method for machinery condition monitoring and who design systems for monitoring and diagnostics.

GOST R 56233-2014: "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines. Hazardous equipment monitoring. Vibration generated by land-based reciprocating compressors" is approved

For the first time in Russia GOST R 56233-2014: "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines. Hazardous equipment monitoring. Vibration generated by land-based reciprocating compressors" would be put into effect as a National Standard of the Russian Federation on the 1st of December, 2015. The standard was approved by the order №1581-st of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology on the 11th of November, 2014.

The Standard regulates the vibration norms of the stationary piston compressors . The document is developed by SPC “Dynamics”. It’s based on the long-term theoretical and experimental research results after 25 years of operation experience of the real-time diagnostics and monitoring systems used on more than 70 electric-driven piston compressors with unit power from 0,02 MW to 2 MW operating on petrochemical complexes and manufactures of Omsk, Angarsk, Astrakhan, Achinsk, Bourgas, Volgograd, Saratov, Syzran, Ukhta and many others.

The standard applies to the stationary piston compressors for Т2-Т6 explosive gas groups according to the classification TR CU 012/2011 as well as for the stationary piston compressors using the harmful gases, 1–2 class of hazard according to GOST 12.1.007. Also, the standard sets guidance on the assessment of their vibration state during operation and acceptance tests after mounting and repair.

In accordance with the standard recommendations, the assessment of the equipment vibration state is based on the joint measurements of the displacement, velocity and acceleration of the unit casing as well as compressor mechanism or the compressor case in the direction of the vibration vector maximum.

The vibration measurements in the range from 2 to 3000 Hz are used for an assessment of the vibration state. For the in-depth study to find out the fault condition or the diagnostics, the carrying out of the vibration measurement in the range up to 10000 Hz and higher is recommended.

The standard's requirements may be used in conjunction with recommendation for assessments of vibration state of the general-purpose stationary piston compressors, for example API 670, including the assessment of the monitored vibration parameter value changes criteria.

GOST 32106-2013 "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines. Hazardous equipment monitoring. Vibration generated by rotodynamic pump and compressor units" is issued

The interstate standard GOST 32106-2013 "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines. Hazardous equipment monitoring. Vibration generated by rotodynamic pump and compressor units" was put into force as a National Standard of the Russian Federation by the order of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology from 22nd of November, 2013 № 1642-st.

The standard applies to rotodynamic and screw pump and compressor units, driven by electric motors and/or steam turbines with gearboxes or multipliers, as well as to fans, exhausters, blowers and air cooling units with a capacity of more than 2 kW and a nominal rotation frequency from 120 to 15000 min-1 and sets guidance on assessment of their vibration state during operation and acceptance tests after mounting and repair.

This Standard is intended for usage in conjunction with GOST ISO 10816-3. This standard complements GOST ISO 10816-3 with regard to joint use of acceleration, velocity, displacement parameters as well as rates of their changes for assessment of the hazardous equipment vibration state.

The standard has now been adopted by the national standards bodies of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Ukraine.

The standard is based on the experience of GOST R 53565-2009 application.
